These images began as pen and ink drawings of insects. That is as close as they come to anything “real.”

The insects’ environments were created digitally, using many layers of textures, colors and imagery, which combine and interact with each other and the scanned drawing in many different ways. They are not a reproduction or copy of anything else.

Each print was created by me using Epson Ultrachrome archival pigment ink on fine heavy-weight paper. Studies have rated its life at over 100 years, but, of course, the technology is so new that no one knows for sure. They should be treated as any work of fine art, matted and framed and displayed out of direct sunlight. Most importantly, please enjoy your new print!
